Arisiparuppu sadham was introduced to me by my friend Priya. She is basically from Coimbatore. In Tirunelveli, Thuvaramparuppu sadham(Toor Dal Rice) is famous. The main ingredients of both of the rices are same. Those are toor dal and rice. But the recipes are different. We add ground paste and coconut to the Toor dal rice. I prefer thuvaramparuppu sadham for lunch and arisiparuppu sadham for dinner. The former is more spicy version of Arisi paruppu sadham. If you are in a hurry, you should go for arisi paruppu sadham. It tastes so good. Papad and curd are best accompaniments for arisi paruppu sadham.

I am going to introduce another moisturizing and exfoliating homemade scrub for face to you all. Guess what? It is Olive oil and Sugar scrub. Hope many of you might have olive oil in stock to take care of your skin. No need to mention about sugar. If you have only raw sugar, just put it in your mixer to get granulated sugar. Raw sugar will damage your skin. You can use this homemade face scrub for your whole body especially your knees and elbows. I have already posted on how to make exfoliating face scrub with rice powder and curd.
Homemade Face scrub - Olive Oil & Sugar for face:
Homemade Face scrub - Olive Oil & Sugar for face:
Olive oil - 1 part
Granulated Sugar - 2 parts
I took 1/2 tbsp sugar and 1/4 tbsp olive oil for scrubbing face and neck. Take more quantity if required.
1. Mix olive oil and sugar in a bowl. You cannot make sugar dissolved in the olive oil. So, just mix thoroughly.
2. Wash your face with warm water. Hot water helps to open up the pores.
3. Pat your face with dry towel.
4. Take the olive oil and sugar scrub and rub gently in circular motion.
5. Rinse the face well and pat it with dry towel. You are done.
Benefits of Sugar for face:
1. Great for exfoliation.
2. Removes dead skin cells.
3. Cleans the pores.
4. Helps to reduce blemishes.
5. Prevents the onset of acne.
Benefits of Olive oil for face:
1. Olive oil moisturizes your face well.
2. Helps to soften the skin.
3. Heals acne scaring.
4. Soothes and heals skin irritations.
5. Makes your skin glowing.
1. Do not rub this sugar face scrub too hard. When I tried it for the first time, I rubbed it hard and got marks on my face. So, rub it gently and smoothly.
2. Use this face scrub only once or twice a week.
3. Do not use raw sugar. It will damage your skin. My own experience again. Use only granulated sugar.
